Last year, developer Inti Creates and publisher PQube shocked the gaming community by announcing that Gal*Gun: Double Peace will be localized in the west for PS4 and PS Vita. Since the initial release, the game has been brought to PC where it holds a "very positive" review score from Steam users.

At GDC 2017, DualShockers had the chance to sit down with Inti Creates President CEO Takuya Aizu and Associate Producer and International Affairs Coordinator Matt Papa to talk about the game's reception in the west.

During the interview, we asked if the developer was surprised to see such a large number of support from gamers since Gal*Gun: Double Peace's release, Takuya Aizu responded, "We were EXTREMELY surprised!"

Evidently, his highly energetic response was warranted as Aizu-san continued, "The game has currently sold 4x more then we had originally projected."

As of right now, the company is waiting to hear exact numbers from the publisher to get a solid idea of how many units are currently sold, after which they'll share it with the community.

Gal*Gun: Double Peace is an on-rails shooter where players must take aim at their female classmates and shoot them with a "Pheromone Shot". This will put the girls in a euphoric state and allow the player to proceed through the level. Additionally, the game features a choice system where the choices the player makes throughout the story will determine the ending of the game.

Check back in with DualShockers soon for the full interview, where we discuss Inti Creates' plans for 2017.
