Game Designer, American McGee, Weighs in on the Xbox One Heading to China

Game designer, American McGee, recently posted on Facebook his thoughts on why he believes Microsoft’s plan to bring the Xbox One to China will flop.

According to his five point list, McGee states reasons including how other consoles are already available for sale through websites in China and how there are cheaper alternatives to Microsoft’s set-top box selling point. He also wrote a bit on how censorship and piracy will be major issues that “will poke giant holes in even the best digital content plans.”

On a final note, he adds:

Chinese consumers are addicted to mobile phones, gamers get their kicks online, consoles are dead, etc, etc… but there’s no stopping a dinosaur.

McGee currently works out of Shanghai in his studio, Spicy Horse, and is developing Alice: Otherlands, a full-length animated feature film based around Alice: Madness Returns funded by Kickstarter.
