Remember when the big console rivalry was between Sega and Nintendo? When that fight was at its peak, the Genesis and SNES were totally at it as were the GameBoy and the Game Gear. Although Nintendo's handheld dominated the market there's no denying Sega's was technically superior. It's funny then that the latest news from the ESRB has Game Gear titles rated to play on the GameBoy's latest successor, the Nintendo 3DS.

That's right: Sonic Triple Trouble and Shinobi are on their way to Nintendo's eShop. The difference this time around is that you won't need to carry a 12-pack of AA batteries to get the most out of your gaming experiences. Remember how weird it was to see Sonic on a Nintendo console back in the GameCube days? Why does this feel weirder?
