As GameMaker has grown more and more prominent in the role of indie game development, powering popular titles like Hotline Miami, the range of options for exporting and publishing games has also grown significantly as well, thanks to a new update that lets publishers export to Sony platforms.

GameMaker developer YoYo Games announced that version 1.3 of its GameMaker: Studio software is now available as a free update with a variety of new features, most significantly incorporating options to export completed GameMaker projects to PS4 and PS Vita, alongside a completed registration as a licensed PlayStation developer.

Along with the introduction of PS4/PS Vita publishing, the updated version of the software also includes new remote debugging tools for cross-platform support, a Simple Flash Importer for assets, cross-platform extensions, support for Spine, and included support for iOS 7.
