Gamescom 2011: Silent Hill: Book of Memories Is Just What Silent Hill Needs

on August 20, 2011 3:00 PM

Because you know what a long-standing horror franchise focused around atmosphere and solitude needs: Co-operative multiplayer gameplay! Yes, Silent Hill: Book of Memories is a co-op based action game. Let that sink in for a bit. Now look at this picture of Akira Yamaoka. I assume you’re feeling the same way right now.

On the bright side, WayForward is developing the game, and they’re very skilled at what they do, but even then, I don’t think I can support this product because this isn’t what Silent Hill is about. I understand it’s not a game in the main series, but that doesn’t make this any less disappointing.

Hit the jump for a look at the gameplay and the story (which, as you’d expect, has nothing to do with Silent Hill).
