New game announcements and a release date for the PS4 may have been the top news for today from Gamescom, but Sony had another small announcement to share today in Germany to make that wait until November 15th even more rewarding.

Today at Gamescom, Sony has also announced that anyone that purchases a new PS4 console will be receiving a free two-week trial of their PlayStation Plus service, their subscription-based premium service that offers monthly installments of free downloadable PS4/PS3/Vita games, along with game discounts and other exclusive features and offers.

In addition, Sony also mentioned that the free trial will provide access to PS4-exclusives DriveClub and Resogun, a new space shoot 'em up announced today at Gamescom, and that last year's Assassin's Creed III will also be available to current PS+ subscribers for the month of September on PS3. As the last bit of PS+ bonuses, Sony will also offer an additional 90 days of PS+ service when you pay for a one-year subscription, which retails at $50 per year.

So, right out of the box your PS4 will be ready to go and get you ready to play on November 15th--thanks, Sony.
