Gamescom is just around the corner and all eyes will be on Cologne, Germany as many new and exciting games will be shown for the first time and demoed for all to enjoy, with the event's keynote speakers formally announced.

Over on the event's official blog, the keynote speakers for Gamescome 2017 have been announced featuring three prominent developers and creatives in the industry. Specifically, Wednesday of the event will kick off with a keynote from Brendan Greene (aka "PlayerUnknown"), the driving force behind this year's massively popular PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, where he will provide deeper insights into the creation of the streaming phenomenon.

The next keynote address on Wednesday of Gamescom will be provided by Richard Garriott, the gaming industry legend known for the Ultima series and more, and who is currently at work on his upcoming project, Shroud of the Avatar.

The final speaker on Thursday of the event will be Andy Tudor, the creative director of Slightly Mad Studios and the upcoming Project CARS 2, who will also be joined by professional race car driver Nicholas Hamilton and moderator Peter Smits. All three speakers will discuss the upcoming racing title and working with the passionate racing games community during the keynote address.

Gamescom 2017 will take place in Cologne, Germany from August 22nd - 26th, 2017.
