Gamescom Awards Nominees Announced: Microsoft Gets 6 Nominations, Sony 5, Nintendo 6

Like every year, on August 15th a jury of journalists will assign the Gamescom Awards, tied to the upcoming industry convention in Cologne. Today the event’s organizers sent in the list of nominees for the ceremony, selected between 140 entries.

You can check out the full list below, with Microsoft and Nintendo getting six nominations each, and Sony bringing home “only” five.

Besides the big three, other multi-nominated publishers are Take-Two (six nominations), Warner Bros. (5),  Ubisoft (3), Activision (3), Bethesda (3), Square Enix (3) and Electronic Arts (2).

The awards ceremony will be held in Cologne on August 15th at 6 PM. During the ceremony the jury will also select the winner of the “Best of Gamescom 2014” category, between the winners of all the other categories.

A “Gamescom Most Wanted Consumer Award,” will be assigned by the public. Gamers will be able to vote on Gamescom’s Facebook page starting on August 9th, and there will be voting stations during the event.
