Gaming as a whole draws in people from every corner of the world, and the GaymerX event specifically has focused on bringing developers and fans from the LGBT community together to celebrate a shared love of all things video games since its debut in August 2013.
Following this year’s GaymerX2, which opened this July in San Francisco, the organizers of the event have officially confirmed a new name and branding for the event through its Kickstarter page, with next year’s event to be called “GX3: Everyone Games.”
Speaking in regard to the previous events’ title as “GaymerX,” the Kickstarter page mentions that the new name is aiming to “represent everyone who feels like they’ve been left out of mainstream gamer culture,” with the Kickstarter page specifically mentioning:
No longer GaymerX, we are officially calling the convention GX: Everyone Games. We’ve become more and more aware that not all of our attendees identify with the ‘gaymer’ label. And while we love all our gay dude friends, we realize there are more people than that who want an awesome space to hang with their friends in a safe and diverse environment.
GX3: Everyone Games is currently seeking support and funds through its Kickstarter project now, with the event aiming to occur in November – December 2015 in the San Francisco Bay Area: you can contribute toward its Kickstarter project here for the next GX event.
