Dead Rising 2: Off the Record Trailer and Possible Release Date

Capcom has recently answered a lot of Dead Rising fans by addressing the issue of what Frank West would have done in Dead Rising 2. For those of you who don’t get the “inside joke” of the previous statement…Frank West was the main character of the first Dead Rising game. Chuck Greene was the protagonist of the second and resulted in many wondering what Frank would have done in DR2’s story instead. Well in an effort to please their fans, Capcom has dedicated an entire video game to this “controversy”. Dead Rising 2: Off the Record aims to erase the events of the “real” second Dead Rising game and replace them with moments of “what would Frank do”. You’re probably wondering why I said that phrase over three times. Well, that single phrase is the core concept behind the trailer to Off the Record which you can view after the break. We would like to say that no real zombies were harmed or forced into ridiculous wrestling outfits and shamed by a chubby Frank West in the making of the video.

The whole point of the original game seems the same except the main character. Also, Off the Record doesn’t seem like it wants to replace Dead Rising 2’s history (*cough* Operation Raccoon City). More like entertain the fact of what could have been. Capcom has stated Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will be available for the PS3 and 360 while releasing sometime later this year; but Amazon.com lists the title as available on October 23rd, 2011. The only question now is…will Frank have an imaginary daughter?!

Pretty much your above average gamer who plays games profusely and appreciates them even more. Been gaming since the NES but is in love with anything PlayStation. No I am not a typical fanboy...I appreciate each system for their strengths and recognize their weaknesses. I just love the PS brand. (Think along the lines as someone who likes to read but loves one author in particular). Ever since my time as #2 in the world at Resistance 2, I have taken video games much more seriously. Don't get me wrong, I am a laid back, fun guy to game with...but I always play to win.
