Fans of the Gears of War series have plenty to celebrate today as the long-awaited Gears of War 4 has been released for Xbox One and PC, and those jumping in to the game's multiplayer will find that some updates have been put in place to speed up progression and tweak the game's credit system.

In a forum post from developer The Coalition, the studio explained that the progression and credit systems in Gears of War 4's Versus Mode have been altered to decrease the cost of certain Gear Packs and increasing the amount of credits earned after completing matches, following feedback from fans during the game's early access period with the Ultimate Edition.

Specifically, The Coalition addressed that the cost for Elite Gear Packs has now been decreased from 4000 credits to 3500 credits, while the overall boost of credits earned from completing matches has been raised (though no specific amount was revealed).

The Coalition also explained that a small bug may show players earning 0 credits from a Match Bonus, though the studio assured that players are still earning credits after matches and that the issue (and others) are being worked on by the team "around the clock."

Gears of War 4 is available now for Xbox One and PC.
