Gears of War 4 is just on the horizon with only a few weeks to go until its launch on October 11th, 2016, and this time around aside from its console debut the title is also making its way to PC for launch, with developer The Coalition seeking to make sure it is as feature-rich as its console cousin.

Speaking with PC Gamer, The Coalition technical director Mike Rayner provided a few more details on the PC version of Gears of War 4 for Windows 10 users, with Rayner specifically mentioning that it will include support for splitscreen co-op play.

Rayner explained that the team is providing support for splitscreen co-op due to demand from fans from last year's Gears of War: Ultimate Edition not including it, and while Rayner mentioned that providing it in the PC version of Gears of War 4 was "quite difficult to support" due to the technical demands, he stated that adding the feature was a "labor of love" for fans of the series.

Along with splitscreen support, Rayner also added that the PC version of Gears of War 4 will also provide cross-play between Windows 10 and Xbox One users in specific modes instead of general online matchmaking for balance. Specifically, that support will be provided for the campaign co-op mode, Horde Mode, multiplayer against AI, and private/LAN multiplayer games.

Gears of War 4 will release for Xbox One and PC on October 11th, 2016.
