Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Gets Nostalgic with New Rendition of its Iconic “Mad World” Trailer

When it first released back in 2006, Gears of War stormed onto the scene with its moving and iconic “Mad World” trailer that introduced its post-apocalyptic world in a stunning way, and in honor of the upcoming Ultimate Edition releasing next week, a new trailer has been released with a tinge of nostalgia for the first game.

A new trailer for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition has been released through Xbox’s official YouTube trailer, and those with at least a faint memory of the game’s original trailer set to the haunting “Mad World” cover by Gary Jules (originally by Tears for Fears), which the trailer lovingly reimagines while switching between imagery from the original 2006 release and the upcoming Ultimate Edition.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition releases for Xbox One on August 25th, 2015, while a PC version is expected in the future – in the meantime, you can check out the reimagined “Mad World” trailer below:
