George R.R. Martin Visits Bungie

After a recent book signing in Seattle it appears that George R.R. Martin (Author of A Song of Ice and Fire, best known currently for the ongoing HBO adaptation) paid Bungie Studios a little visit with a note that “I could tell you what they are doing, but then I’d have to kill you”.

First thought everybody will jump to is of course another game based on the eponymous book series, though this is highly unlikely seeing as Cyanide Studios has the rights to make games based on the series, with an RTS well underway along with an RPG we don’t know much about.

However, Bungie is working on a new original IP now that they’re independent from Microsoft and there’s a reasonably good chance that Mr. Martin could be writing the story for that or just offering an insight. Of course he might just be a fan (or they of him), and Bungie just decided to ask him to come visit. Nothing to see here as far as actual news and facts go, but an interesting development that we might want to keep an eye on in the future.

John is what you might call something of a badass. When he's not writing about games or playing them, he's playing in the Kansas City band "Documentary" and drinking as many different beers as often as he can. He's a huge comic nerd in the best sense of the term, with a particular love for the Creator Owned movement.
