Bethesda has geo-locked copies of the upcoming Wolfenstein: The New Order so uncensored copies won't be sold in Germany or Austria.

This restriction is due to the presence of Nazi-related content in Wolfenstein, something prohibited under German law.

A version of Wolfenstein without Nazi content will be sold in Germany, Austria and through select distributors.

In a statement, publisher Bethesda said that only Nazi content had been removed from the censored version of the title.

Although there are some legally required differences, the levels of violence and action remain the same as in the international version,

Wolfenstein: The New Order will release May 20 on PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
