2K Games and Firaxis revealed today that Gilgamesh will be leading Sumeria in Sid Meier's Civilization VI. Little is known about the real Gilgamesh, who was king of the Sumerian city of Uruk, but he has been dipicted as part man and part god in the Epic of Gilgamesh.

Sumeria's special ability is called Epic Quest, and makes is so that every time the player captures a barbarian outpost, they will gain a tribal village reward.

This Civ's unique unit is the War Cart. It is a a very powerful early game unit that does not suffer any penalties when facing a Spearman or Anti-Cavalry unit, along with gaining extra movement in open terrain.

The Ziggurat is their unique improvement, it provides both extra science and culture when next to a river. Unfortunately, it can't be built on a hill.
