Google is working on its own answer to the entertainment TV set top box, which will go by the name Android TV according to documents obtained by The Verge.

The documents state that several developers have been contacted to design apps and games. In some of the screenshots, glimpses of titles such as Plants vs Zombies 2, Temple Run and Triple Town may be seen, although it’s not clear if these are merely placeholders.

The Android TV will reportedly feel and act much like current set top boxes. In addition to the standard remote however, Android TV will also feature an optional game controller. Voice input and notifications will both be available, but Google is apparently recommending that developers use notifications sparingly.
