In an interview on vg247.com the president of Sony Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida briefly adressed a question that many fans of racing games are asking. When is Gran Turismo 6 going to be released?

It seems that Polyphony is again taking it’s time instead of trying to directly steal their main competitor’s thunder, as Gran Turismo 6 has just entered the preliminary concept design phase, as the team is still hard at work on the continuous updates on Gran Turismo 5. As a result, the next GT title is “going to take a few years”.

You can read the full statement past the cut:

As far as the Gran Turismo team’s concerned, they are still working on updating the games, so they’re just shifting to the designing and concepting phase of the next project. It’s going to take a few years.”
