Cygames announced that its popular JRPG Granblue Fantasy has passed seventeen million registered players.

If you're not familiar with the game,  Granblue Fantasy is a JRPG available in Japan (but it can be played in English) launched in 2014, known for its gorgeous art by Final Fantasy IX and XII Art Director Hideo Minaba and the lovely soundtrack by Nobuo Uematsu. It might also be on your radar for the recent anime series.

To celebrate the milestone, Cygames is providing players with a nice slew of freebies, which comes right after the goodies that came last month for the sixteen million celebration.

Every day players get a premium draw for free, plus 200 crystals until September 22nd. A series of prizes will also be awarded by lottery among those who log in.

RP and EXP will be multiplied by 1.5, AP and EP consumption will be alved pretty much across the board, while shop skill boosts will be doubled in effect. All of this will also end on September 22nd.

On top of this, a crossover special event questline with DMM Games' Tuken Ranbu comes with more freebies, for the ladies and those who appreciate pretty boys (which is convenient, since Granblue Fantasy's own cast is a little skewed towards beautiful girls).

The event is titled Fate Horizon Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu and lets you grab Izuminokami Kanesada as soon as you complete chapter 1 (but you'll have to fill up his loyalty bar as usual to keep him), you can also unlock Yamanbagiri Kunihiro via dropped treasures (alongside plenty of SSR weapons), and Mikazuki Munechika by clearing all the quests. Tsurumaru Kuninaga, Honebami Tsushirou and Mutsunokami Yoshiyuki will also appear, much to the ladies' joy.

Perhaps even more juicy is the fact that just by starting the questline, you'll unlock the samurai special class, which will probably save less veteran players a lot of time. The event will end on September 21st.

You can take a gander on all the bishounen in the gallery below.

While Granblue Fantasy is available only on iOS, Android and PC for now, a console JRPG for PS4 titled Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link is currently in development in collaborations with PlatinumGames. We haven’t heard much about it since its announcement last year, besides an interesting presentation on its cloud tech, but news could come at Tokyo Game Show or at the upcoming Granblue Festival in December.
