Grand Theft Auto V Receives 18+ Classification in Australia

It is not particularly news-worthy when games receive a rating for their content, it happens all the time. However, with the recently denied second-attempt by Deep Silver to get Saints Row IV classified in Australia, all eyes were focusing on Grand Theft Auto V, looking to see if it would receive the same fate.

It appears that was not the case, as Grand Theft Auto V has successfully received an unsurprising 18+ classification. The rating highlights a “High Impact” level of drug use, whilst classifying the game’s violence, language, nudity, sex, and overall themes as having a “Strong Impact.”

Grand Theft Auto V is being developed primarily by Rockstar North and will be published by Rockstar Games for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th, 2013. PC and Wii U versions are being considered. You can check out all the new screenshots below.
