Android may be the leader in regards to mobile market share, but many developers find it to difficult to turn a profit on the piracy heavy platform. It's the reason why more often than not that iOS takes precedence for many mobile game makers. RockStar Games is a developer who is the exception to rule and their latest re-release Grand Theft Auto: Vice City proves exactly that.

Not only is Vice City a paid app ($4.99), but in under a month it now ranks 35 in the paid games list and has already surpassed the 100k download mark. To put things in perpective, the previous GTA title (Grand Theft Auto III) released on Google Play has surpassed  500k downloads, but it was released a year ago. Vice City is on pace to surpass a million in that same time frame.

I'm sure this is great news for Rockstar, but it's even better for Android. Apparently there are some people that use the platform who actually -- you know -- pay for apps. Hey all you other mobile game developers, it's time to take notice!
