Guacamelee Looks Delightful, Despite the Painful Pun

on October 21, 2011 8:00 PM

Small indie outfit DrinkBox Studios released an announcement trailer for their new game, Guacamelee, and it definitely looks like good times.

It looks to be a fairly deep 2D brawler with Metroidvania elements, along with an appropriately kooky storyline to boot, featuring a kidnapped girlfriend and a Luchador mask that transforms the protagonist into a beefed out Mexican wrestler. Check out the trailer after the jump.

Looks fun as hell, and man, those vibrant graphics are really hitting the spot for me. Release dates and platforms haven’t been announced, but I’m ready and willing to plunk down my cash for it, regardless of console or PC. We’ll most certainly keep you guys updated on this potential gem.

His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
