As promised, Gust has today properly revealed their newest Atelier game. It’s called Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemist of the Dusk Sky, and like Atelier Iris 2, the game will feature two protagonists. The female protagonist , Escha, is 15 years old and a novice at alchemy. Logy, the game’s leading man, is 18 years old and he wields a sword that was forged through alchemy. Players will choose the protagonist they’d like to play as at the beginning of the game, and this decision will affect the way events are played out.
A few more early details are known about the game at this time. Players can create parties of as many as six characters to take into battles. Two of the game’s main themes are “friendship” and “trust”, and the game will feature multiple endings, as well as exclusive events for each of the two protagonists (replay value much?). The game will also feature enhanced lip syncing and and eye movement compared to previous games in the series.
The game will run on the Dynasty Warriors engine and will be available exclusively for the PS3. It will be available in a standard edition for 7,140 yen (roughly $75) and a limited edition for 10,290 yen (roughly $110), although the contents of the limited edition have not been disclosed yet. Finally, the game will hit Japanese store shelves on June 27th. View a precious few magazine scans of the game below.
