.Hack Returns, but Probably Not in the Way Fans Would Like

Dear RPG fans, it’s time to go back to The World…or this is what I would like to write. Unfortunetaly, most will probably be disappointed.

Today Bandai namco announced a crossover event between Sword Art Online and .Hack in the mobile game Sword Art Online: Code Register. The collaboration works both ways, as Sword Art Online content will appear in the .Hack-inspired mobile game New World.

You can see the trailers and commercial below, and probably cringe a bit.

Let’s not lose hope.
