Halo 5: Guardians Free For All Open Announced for RTX 2016

A new Halo 5: Guardians tournament has been announced, this time for the upcoming Rooster Teeth Expo in Austin, Texas.

Qualifiers for the Free-For-All tournament will be taking place on June 28 at The Domain, a Microsoft Store in Austin. 36 combatants will be hosted, though only six will receive a three day pass into RTX and a place in the finals taking place on July 3. You can register now at Microsoft’s event site.

There will also be qualifiers at the RTX show floor, from Friday, July 1 12pm-6pm and Saturday, July 2 from 9am-4pm. The top three players for each day will be included in the finals for Sunday, July 3.

Each participant will play three games of 6-player FFA in Halo 5: Guardians. In the Finals the remaining players will be separated into two groups of six depending on their score and will again play three games. The top three from both groups will move on to the final round.

The maps being played are: Truth, Regret, and Stasis. Match rules are: free-for-all mode, 10 minutes to win, unlimited scoring system.

  • First: $3,000 + Gaems Monitor + Loot Crate

  • Second: $1,500 + Astro A40 Headset + Loot Crate

  • Third: $500 + Astro A40 Headset + Loot Crate
