With Halo: The Master Chief Collection out on store shelves for Halo fans new and old to enjoy, there is much to look forward to for the series in the coming year with the next major Halo game, Halo 5: Guardians, set to release next year – luckily, you can join in on the action today.
Microsoft announced that the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta officially kicks off today, December 29th, and is currently scheduled to run through January 18th, 2015. While the beta was intended to launch a few days ago, outages on Xbox Live over the Christmas period may have prevented a stable launch. Originally announced during E3 2014, the multiplayer beta is available to those that purchased Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
In addition to the multiplayer beta’s launch today, Microsoft also announced the bonus items that will be available for those that pre-order Guardians prior to its launch next year, with the game’s $60 standard edition to include an exclusive poster, the $100 Limited Edition including the poster, an exclusive steelbook case with items and bonus digital content. The Limited Collector’s Edition will include all of the previous content, alongside a commemorative statue designed by 343 Industries, coming in at a hefty $250 price tag.
Halo 5: Guardians is set to release in fall 2015.
