The upcoming strategy sequel Halo Wars 2 will blend together RTS gameplay with the Halo once more, as Microsoft is celebrating the game's upcoming launch with new character artwork to illustrate the conflict between the UNSC and the game's new faction, the Banished.

Over on Xbox Wire, Microsoft has unveiled a series of six new character posters designed by three artists: Grzegorz “Gabz” Domaradzki, Craig Drake and Kevin Tong. Each of the artists created a pair of posters that illustrate the opposing factions at odds in Halo Wars 2, highlighting signature characters that players will learn more about and battle alongside in the game.

343 Industries Studio Head of Strategy Dan Ayoub provided a statement on the posters by expelling "we’re really excited to be working with such talented artists in bringing the characters of Halo Wars 2 to life." Ayoub also added that "Storytelling is particularly important in real-time strategy and Halo games, and these beautiful posters provide a glimpse of what’s to come on Feb. 21.”

Microsoft also mentioned in its post that limited edition prints of the artwork will be available in the coming weeks for either individual posters or the complete set, so you can stay tuned here once they are available for purchase.

Halo Wars 2 will release for Xbox One and PC on February 21st, 2017 - in the meantime, you can check out the full collection of all six character posters below:
