Hatsune Miku Celebrates Her 5th Birthday by Endorsing a Convenience Store Chain

The popular vocaloid Hatsune Miku first appeared on August the 31st, 2007, and since then has grown to become one of the most popular characters in the Japanese gaming industry.

Sega and Crypton Future Media won’t celebrate her fifth birthday just by releasing Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f for the PS Vita (that will hit the Japanese shelves on August the 30th), but also with an extensive marketing campaign in collaboration with the Family Mart convenience store chain.

The campaign, titled “Hatsune Miku Loves Family Mart”, started today and will continue until Septemer the 10th.
It involves several products for sale branded Hatsune Miku, a contest with a Miku themed scooter as the grand prize, 39 days of Hatsune Miku videos accessible via Android and iPhone, a series of events, a TV commercial and more.

Below you can see the commercial, that is currently airing on several Japanese TV channels, together with a couple of cute blooper videos starring Miku as she butchers and abuses the classic Family Mart jingle.
