Ninja Theory just released a brand new trailer of its upcoming game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice.
The trailer mostly focuses on super-creepy but yet gorgeous cutscenes, but it still gives a glimpse on gameplay, even if the fighting scenes are shown in slow motion to give them a more cinematic look.
The game is known for having been developed by a very small number of people at Ninja Theory, while using performance capture and advanced modeling techniques in order to give it an “AAA Indie” feel.
While the first prototypes were a little rough around the edges a couple years ago, the development team made significant changes over time, and the game looks extremely promising. It’ll certainly be interesting to get a final verdict on whether Ninja Theory’s “AAA Indie” formula really works. It certainly used to look too good to be true when it was announced, but as of now I’m ready to turn into a believer if the game delivers what it promises.
You can check out the trailer below, and if you want to see more, you can also enjoy the announcement of the game’s photo mode, another recent trailer, and the PC requirements in case you prefer to play Senua’s adventures on your gaming ring.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will release on August 8th for PS4 and PC.
