Today Ninja Theory revealed a new trailer of its upcoming action game Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

The trailer takes a cinematic approach to showcasing Senua's own nightmares, and it's quite harrowing and eerie.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice has been dubbed by Ninja Theory a "AAA independent game," created with a small team, but using AAA-level production values and asset. So far, it appears that that premise has worked quite well.

The game focuses heavily on Senua's own point of view, as it's twisted by her nightmares and psychotic mind. You can check out the trailer below, topped by a few screenshots, alongside two pieces of key art.

If you want to see more about Hellblade, which has certainly come a long way since when I played it at Gamescom almost two years ago, you can check out new gameplay footage, the PC system requirements, and the pre-order theme for PS4.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice will finally release for PS4 and PC on August 8th.
