Today Ninja Theory announced that Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice will get a virtual reality mode on July 31st.

According to the press release, the VR edition will be compatible with both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, and it won't be just a separate mode or an addition. It'll be the whole game playable in virtual reality.

The good news doesn't end there, as the VR Edition will be completely free to those who already own the Steam version of the game, or purchase it in the future.

Unfortunately, the mode won't be available on PlayStation VR, but that isn't very surprising, considering that Ninja Theory recommends a GTX 1080 graphics card as a requirement for your rig running the game in virtual reality.

We also get a developer's diary video showcasing the VR Edition and explaining how it came to be.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. If you're unfamiliar with the game, you can check out our review.
