Developer Cradle Games' Hellpoint is anything but a direct immitation of Dark Souls. With the games' Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight campaign on the way, the Canadian-based studio has released a brand new trailer (below) showcasing a ton of gameplay.

What is Hellpoint? Judging by the trailer below, a bleak, futuristic third-person RPG with deep doses of inspiration from FromSoftware. With large enemies, perilous environments and integrated combat systems, Hellpoint looks like a unique take on a tried-and-true formula of rigorous, third-person, combat heavy games. And simply judging by the video below, there is a lot of hit-box intensive action going on.

Even more interesting, Hellpoint features both PvP and splitscreen co-op (shown off extensively in the trailers). The dynamic undoubtedly adds more intricate gameplay options for people teaming up -- and more in-depth bragging rights for the friends you are cutting down.

As mentioned above, Hellpoint plans on launching both its Greenlight and Kickstarter campaign on April 6, 2017 -- those interested in keeping up with title should keep an eye on Cradle Games' Twitter.

Hellpoint doesn't have a set launch date -- yet. However, the game is currently slated for a Q4 release on Linux, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Check out the Greenlight Trailer and gallery below:
