Today some details -- via Variety -- on Her Story developer Sam Barlow's next game have surfaced, as well as information that Annapurna Interactive -- who recently published What Remains of Edith Finch -- will serve as publisher.

According to the Variety piece, Barlow has been working on the his follow-up title to the 2015's critically acclaimed, indie darling full-motion-video thriller, Her Story, for quite some time.

Titled Telling Lies, Barlow's forthcoming project will follow the same-interactive movie as Her Story, but will have a much bigger canvas, budget, and higher production values thanks to Annapurna's support. Further, the pair are looking to cast Hollywood talent for the new game, which is still in the process of scripting.

Telling Lies is seen as a "spiritual follow-up" to Her Story, but obviously will have a brand new story, characters, and locations. Shooting for the game is said to (likely) begin at the end of 2017 or early 2018.

As for what the game is about, Barlow has opted to keep his cards close to his chest. What he did reveal is that it is in the vein of a political thriller with 3-4 key characters. Apparently, Barlow has watched 1974's thriller movie The Conversation extensively for reference.

Platforms and a release window/date have not bee divulged.
