Crytek announced today that its development studio, Crytek USA Corp., will soon be releasing their first game, HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age. This game will be a third person four player co-op shooter where players must work together to fend off waves of monsters.

“In HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age, players will be counting their bullets and crying out for help as they delve deeper into the shadowy world we’ve created,” said David Adams, CEO of Crytek USA Corp. “From the outset of the development process, we’ve poured our imaginations into the game so that everyone who plays HUNT will discover a challenging experience that feels fresh, captivating and rich in possibilities.”

As the name of the game suggests, this takes place during the Gilded Age and is set in the 1800s. Players will take on the role of a hunter and they will be tasked with dealing with “so-called myths and folklore” and “evil lurking just beyond the fringes of day-to-day life.”

The game will ensure that players never experience the same situations twice since it will have a content generation system that will change the environments and enemies. As you can see from the trailer, not only will there be hordes of undead to fend off but also giant bosses which will require team work to defeat.

As of right now we have no release date but we do know that it will be coming to PC and consoles (though which consoles is TBA). The game will be shown during E3 so we’ll try to get you some news on whatever is shown for it.

Players can sign up for the beta by visiting the official HUNT: The Gilded Age website.
