Here’s Why Sony Santa Monica Keeps Making God of War Games

on December 7, 2014 4:53 PM

During the World Wide Studios Town Hall panel at PlayStation Experience Sony Santa Monica Community Strategist Aaron Kaufman was asked why the studio keeps working on God of War games.

Initially, his response was a coy “who said we keep making them?”

Then he gave a more serious response, explaining that Kratos is one of the most iconic PlayStation characters, and the studio is very proud of that.

The question was probably triggered by yesterday’s revelation from Game Director Cory Barlog, who mentioned that a new God of War is in development. Initially Sony Santa Monica confirmed that, but then removed all the explicit tweets, trying to keep it on the down low.

Kaufman also added that those that want to know more about the God of War franchise should check out the God of War Retrospective panel, which will be on YouTube soon.

That’ll seal the deal, as Barlog outed the new game in development there.
