The first of two DLC downloadable expansions, Ashes of Ariandel tasks players with uncovering a “terrible secret that lies within an unnamed frozen land,” and I am ready.

The DLC contains new enemies, weapons, armor, new sorceries / miracles / pyromancies, along with new features for competitive multiplayer mode, and the DLC’s lore extends the storyline. It also looks like there's a boss wielding the Lordvessel from the original Dark Souls -- interesting.

Ashes of Ariandel will release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One October 25.

A second Dark Souls 3 expansion is also on the way, and is expected to be released in early 2017. You can also buy the expansions separately or as part of the game's season pass. Have a look at the announcement trailer and first screenshots down below.
