Hideo Kojima Calls PS4 the “Best Machine;” “Will Turn the Impossible Into Possible”

Legendary Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is quite obviously hyped for the PS4. During the launch countdown event aired yesterday from Tokyo he definitely was the most enthusiastic between the developers to walk the stage, enough to shout “yahoo!” as he was introduced.

During his speech he had words of very high praise for Sony’s new console, beginning by saying that it’s been eight years since the launch of the PS3, and expressing his happiness for the fact that Sony finally gave him a new console to release Metal Gear Solid V for.

Kojima-san didn’t stop there, and called the PS4 straight out the “best machine,” and mentioning that it’ll turn what was previously believed impossible into a possibility. He’s actually not the first time we hear a Japanese developer saying that, as the same sentiment was echoed by Yakuza Ishin producer Masayoshi Yokoyama in a recent interview.

Considering how much betterĀ Metal Gear Solid VĀ looks on PS4 than on any other console, it’s not surprising to hear that the console holds his favor. It’s actually interesting to see how much he tried to keep a semblance of platform neutrality until a few weeks ago, while now he definitely seems to have made his choice.

Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
