Hideo Kojima Loves Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Platinum Games and Konami’s upcoming action epic Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance may carry the Metal Gear moniker, but it was not directly developed by famed series creator Hideo Kojima. In fact, Rising is radically and completely different from the core Metal Gear series as we know it, with lightning fast action and flashy swordplay replacing the series’ signature tactical espionage action.

Despite this deviation, Kojima-san seems to be enjoying the game. He has stated that the game’s opening “amazed” him and that the title is worthy of the MG name. He also uploaded the above image, saying that it was “black Raiden” but that he couldn’t explain how he became that way. Looks promising, right?

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be available on February 19th, 2013.
