Hideo Kojima Teases Metal Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Launch Trailer

With just about two weeks to go until Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launches on September 1, fans are getting eager for the supposedly final chapter in developer Hideo Kojima’s iconic franchise. One of the staples of the lead-up to the game’s release have been cinematic trailers directed by Kojima himself. One was released at E3 2013, 2014 and 2015. The latest trailer, unveiled at Gamescom, was not directed by Kojima-san.

Today, Kojima-san took to Twitter, teasing that he was back in the video editing studio, supposedly working on a final launch trailer for the game. MGS4 had a similar trailer released less than a month away from its launch as well, so the idea is not out of the realm of possibility.

In the tweet above Kojima-san mentioned that he’ll put as few spoilers as possible in the final edit of the trailer, since we’re close to release, but he teased that the theme is the “evolution and harmony of Metal Gear.”

However, some fans may choose to avoid this final trailer for the sake of story spoilers with the official launch so close. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain hits PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 1.
