Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Trailer Is an Emotional “Thank You” to the Fans

on August 25, 2015 8:59 AM

Many of us grew up as gamers watching Metal Gear Solid trailers personally cut by Hideo Kojima. Generation after generation, they always made us dream about great games to come, and the games almost never disappointed.

Today Konami released what’s probably Kojima-san last Metal Gear Solid trailer. The legendary director is bound to leave the company soon, also leaving the franchise behind. It’s the end of an era.

I won’t spoil the trailer itself, as Kojima created it to show the progress of the series, and more importantly to thank its fans after so many years of walking side by side.

I’ll respectfully shut up, and leave you with it, including the Japanese version and a small batch of screenshots. Dammit… Now I’m crying…
