Warhorse Studios has announced that they will launch a Kickstarter campaign for their medieval RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
Lead game designer Dan Vávra has said that the game has already received $1.5 million, mostly from an investor outside of the game industry. Since Deliverance is such a big game and Warhorse aren’t getting any money from game publishers, they’ve made a deal with the investor. If Warhorse manages to raise $500 thousand on Kickstarter, it would show that Deliverance has potential and this would give the investor faith to continue funding the game. Any money made that exceeds their goal would be used to make Deliverance a better game.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a first person medieval RPG but it won’t have the usual trappings of magic and monsters. The game will take place in the Holy Roman Empire during the late middle ages and will have historically accurate characters, themes and warfare.
The game is planned to be released during the fourth quarter of 2015 on PC, Mac and Linux. Warhorse also hopes to bring the game to current gen consoles, Playstation 4 and Xbox One, but the release date of those are subject to approval by Sony and Microsoft.
