As one of the PS4’s most highly-anticipated exclusives, Guerrilla Games’ Horizon: Zero Dawn is surely going to be a big presence at next week’s E3 2016, with the title having confirmed a new release date and new footage being shown.

In a new update on the PlayStation Blog, Guerrilla Games’ Managing Director Herman Hulst confirmed that Horizon: Zero Dawn has been scheduled for release on February 28th, 2017, pushing the title from its previously anticipated release later this year.

Hulst added in the post that “it wasn’t an easy choice to make” regarding moving the game’s release date since its reveal at last year’s E3 2015. However, Hulst also explained on behalf of Guerrilla Games that “we also want to ensure that Horizon Zero Dawn lives up to the visuals and gameplay quality that our games are known for,” adding that “the new date affords us the extra time required to deliver fully on our ambitious vision for Horizon Zero Dawn.”

Despite the disappointment of the game not releasing until next year, the PlayStation Blog did provide a silver lining in the form of a new trailer, with the video specifically focusing on the main protagonist Aloy, as the trailer explores “the mysteries of her origin, her journey as an outcast and the events that set her on a dangerous quest.”

Horizon: Zero Dawn will release for PS4 on February 28th, 2017 – in the meantime, you can check out the new trailer below:
