I don't know about you, but for me, the lack of guns in Horizon: Zero Dawn has been refreshing. However, according to Game Director Mathijs de Jonge, the absence of them, wasn't always the case for Guerrilla Game's smash hit.In a Twitter exchange with a fan, de Jonge reveals that early in its development, Horizon: Zero Dawn in fact did have some guns, but they were replaced "as they didn't feel right for the game."

What de Jonge exactly means by "some guns" isn't clear, as the Game Director didn't further elaborate on what this looked like before being cut out. He did however, provide some interesting statistics for the game; revealing that for the first week players killed more than 20 million turkeys, 1.4 million Thunderjaws, and 152 million Watchers. The salient statistic, how many punk-ass rabbits players have been killed, was not revealed.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is available exclusively for PS4 at the price point of $59.99 USD. Let us know in the comments below whether or not you're happy guns are missing from the game.
