Horizon: Zero Dawn’s Japanese Trailer Makes Me Want a Horizon Anime

I normally don’t do separate post for trailers of Japanese localizations of western games, but this time please indulge me. After all, Sony doesn’t release fully voice acted trailers in Japanese for every game, and when they do, it means that they intend to really push a game on the local market.

Today, they released the trailer of Horizon: Zero Dawn for Japan, fully voice acted in the language of the samurai, and boy it sounds like honey pouring into my ears.

As usual, high-level Japanese voice acting is just spot-on, with the perfect gravity and pacing.

Considering the Japanese love for all-things mecha, this could very well be a successful franchise locally. At last year’s Tokyo Game Show the crowd appeared to be very impressed by the live gameplay showcased on stage.

I don’t know about you, but now I’d really like an anime series based on the game. The way I’d see it, the setting and aesthetics of Horizon: Zero Dawn would be perfect for a high-budget anime.
