How To Get 12 Months of Free Xbox Live Gold

on July 19, 2013 1:32 PM

Xbox gamers rejoice! You can have one entire year of Xbox Live Gold for free… if you try out Microsoft’s Office 365 for a year, too.

If you haven’t heart of Microsoft Office 365, it’s a cloud-based service that allows you to download Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook and Access on up to five different PC or Mac devices, plus 20 GB of online storage space via SkyDrive, and 60 minutes worth of calls through its Skype service.

The only way to get the year’s worth of Xbox Live Gold is to activate an Office 365 Home Premium annual subscription (which is $99 a year) or an Office 365 University subscription, and doing so only between July 18th, 2013 and September 29th, 2013. Doing this will get you your Xbox code by October 31st, 2013 after signing in with the Microsoft account email and password you used to set up your Office 365 subscription, and then you can redeem that code on Xbox.com or your Xbox 360 console.

To learn more, check out the Office 365 Xbox Live Gold page, which has more options on pricing and other details.

Born and raised in video games and "geek culture," Masoud has been bred off of fantasy worlds his entire life and doesn't see anything wrong with that. He loves RPGs (especially TRPGs), sandbox games, the sci-fi genre, dieselpunk, art deco, and anything that allows him to create. Having graduated from John Jay College with a degree in English and a minor in Creative Writing, Masoud hopes to one day pen the same novels, comics, movies, and video games he enjoys escaping into when the real world gets too boring.
