Virtual reality broke into the mainstream in a big way this year with devices like the HTC Vive, and now for those looking to get into the medium with the high-end VR device, you can pick one up (slightly) on the cheap with a limited time $100 price drop.
The HTC Vive is discounted by $100 for a limited time on both the HTC Store and Amazon (and other participating retailers), with the price drop giving a good discount off the usual $799 pricetag for the device and a chance to break into virtual reality.
Alongside the headset, the package also includes the two Vive motion controllers and two base stations for more immersive touch and motion controls. As an added bonus along with the price drops, purchases of the HTC Vive are also including free copies of Zombie Training Simulator and The Gallery: Episode 1 – Call of the Starseed.
The HTC Vive originally released in April of this year as just one of the many VR headsets to enter the mainstream market in 2016, with the headset joined alongside other competitors this year such as the Oculus Rift and Sony’s PlayStation VR. Of the three headsets, the HTC Vive comes with the largest standard price tag at $799, while Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR retail for $599 and $399, respectively.
