As Final Fantasy XIV continues it's quest for evolution, we can't say that the Event Team is sitting idle. The bikini-mania of  Firefall Faire has just ended and another event is already in the pipeline, scheduled to start on September the 6th and to continue until September the 20th.

The event, dubbed Hunter's Moon: The Curse of Dalamud ties in both with the Firefall Faire and the continuated story-oriented mini-events that see several bad omens predict an impending danger looming over the continent of Eorzea.

Dalamud is the small celestial body that orbits the moon, and recently it has taken on a peculiar red hue. In the meanwhile a shipment of earrings themed on the twin moons has been stolen by what seems to be a pack of overgrown rats. People suspect the legendary thief named the Lord of the Rats to be behind the crime.

Adventurers will be required to hunt the rats during the event in order to recover the stolen earrings, and they will probably be allowed to keep the loot.

While you wait for the event, you can enjoy the lovely themed illustration by Akihiko Yoshida, that seems to be as busy as the event team and whose art  by itself makes Final Fantasy XIV's events worth the effort.
