Over the weekend the fine folks at Double Fine made their triumphant return to the PC platform by releasing Costume Quest on Steam as a little treat for the upcoming Halloween holiday. The critically acclaimed RPG from Tim Schafer and company finally sees the PC with this release, and boy am I glad.

Costume Quest was one of my absolute favorite games of last year; although the gameplay was a bit one-note and uninspired, the delightful story, charm, and writing made up for it. I’d say it has the best writing in years of a game that isn’t Portal 2.

On top of that, buyers of the game on PC will also receive the equally awesome “Grubbins On Ice” DLC for absolutely free. Really, if you are a loyal reader and you don’t jump on this, you are dead to me. I may even double dip, just because it’s that good. Nab it here.

His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
