Iconic Video Game Box Art Illustrator Greg Martin Passes Away

Greg Martin, who was responsible for creating so many video game box art covers, is no longer with us.

Martin was a former animator for Hanna-Barbera. He worked on series like the Jetsons and the Flintstones. He also worked on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Thundercats.

What us gamers remember him for are his classic video game box art covers. I never knew the man’s name, but even as a kid I could tell that a lot of my favorite game covers were done by the same man. Greg did his pieces by hand and airbrushed giant 24-30 inch paintings.
