IGN Pro League Becomes Official Home to DoA5 And Capcom Titles

Big news this week from IPL, as they took on DoA5, Street Fighter x Tekken, and Super Street Fighter 4 (AE v. 2012 Hyper Mega Ultra Remix Sesame Street Rainbow Edition) as a part of their tournament schedule. This is not the first attempt to integrate the polarizing FGC into eSports, but IPL seems enthused by the opportunity to give “everyday players” a chance to share the spotlight with fighting game favorites such as EG Justin Wong and Mike “Mike Ross” Ross.

IPL 5, which is currently taking place this weekend, will be the host to exhibition matches to help introduce the FGC to a new venue to display their skill. 2013 will be the start of the full season. Awesome job on IPL’s part, keep tuned to watch the fusion of the FGC and eSports.
